Traveling Across Europe

Posted on Jul 14, 2010

Came back from Amsterdam this weekend and it was an absolute BLAST! I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to be in a country who were finalists in the World Cup! Sunday was pure crazyness! I seriously feel bad for anyone who has a phobia of orange because the entire day there was nothing but orange.
The Dutch are so friendly and it was very nice to be speaking in English again. Ugh you have no idea how hard and weird it was to switch back to French. During my stay in Amsterdam, we visited the Anne Frank museum and got very acquainted with the town square through a three hour walking tour.(Yeah I know very long!) Since Amsterdam is quite small we all rented bikes and biked around the city. Such an excellent way to discover the city! Now if only I can rent a bike in Paris!

Only complaints? The multitudes of mosquitoes, the super hot weather (I got a bit sunburned =/ ) and bringing more money! There were these VERY delicious Dutch waffles that I wanted to bring back to States for some of my close family and friends but couldn’t because the stores I went to didn’t accept American credit cards. The waffles had caramel in them and were just sweet enough to make you want to buy more; in fact both myself and my friend Melinda tried to buy SIX bags, no joke, but we couldn’t because we didn’t have any euros on us.
Wednesday is Bastille Day = no work YAY! It’s nice to have a break the day after tomorrow especially since it will allow me to explore more of Paris tomorrow night and Wednesday :)

Oh and I hoped you enjoy the pictures!
Bonne nuit.
