
Brand Entertainment Intern
Formed in 1999, Cake is a brand entertainment agency which has expanded beyond its core services of media relations and sponsorship into areas such as advertiser-funded programming and live events. Cake offers the sort of work that creates a buzz.
Cake creates entertainment properties and entertaining ideas. They make TV shows, put on concerts, live events, PR campaigns, viral campaigns, digital assets, design graphics, mobile phone madness, etc.
Cake consists of 70 people based in central London with diverse backgrounds from music to advertising to PR to talent management. Their campaigns have spanned the globe from the Apollo Theatre in Harlem NYC, to the arctic circle to a Wimbledon dog track.
Cake seeks creative and energetic individuals with an open and fun attitude. Ideal candidates will work well without close supervision, but will also work well in teams. Interest and/or experience in advertising, PR, or event management are a plus.
- Media Relations - Writing news releases, contacting journalists, proofreading.
- Research - Media content analysis, media audits, research about or for clients, sector research, surveys, web research, environmental/communications audits
- Reports - Activity, research, formative or summative
- Events - Planning, preparing, attending, observing
- Communication aids - Printed, electronic, verbal - planning, producing, editing
- Meetings - Shadowing/participating – creative/brainstorming, management, admin, client, supplier, focus groups
- Design - Graphics, photography, photo-shoots
- Internal PR - In-house publications, events, industrial relations
- External PR - Relationship building with key external publics
- Evaluation - PR campaigns, media campaigns, personal Achievements etc
- Live Events - Venue / location searching, prop sourcing, site visits, supplier research, budget creation, event treatments, attending events, onsite production assistant etc.
- Work at an exciting PR company with top name clients and learn about the industry
- Develop practical work and interpersonal skills
- Understand people and organisations
- Work on both solo projects and collaborative team projects
