Fine Arts Entrepreneur Intern
SHIGERU YOKOTA Inc. is a unique art gallery in the Tokyo Bay area. The gallery specializes in post-war Japanese art and its collection is highly esteemed around the world. This is a great opportunity for students with an appreciation for art and an interest in gallery management.
Enthusiasm and commitment to the job responsibilities are paramount for this unique position. As in any Japanese company, a respectful attitude is essential for working in a team and with clients. A cheerful personality is also required.
The intern will support the gallery administration and operation. Additional projects will include editing art catalogues and portfolios and preparing and maintaining the gallery’s collection.
This is a rare opportunity to learn and study the post-war Japanese art industry while taking part in the active management and operation of a thriving gallery. The experience will also offer a deep immersion into Japanese culture and provide a unique perspective to the confluence of art and business.
International interns bring new perspectives and innovative ideas while fostering a diverse atmosphere within the gallery and the organization as a whole. This fusion of culture would be especially useful for sharing Japanese art with a Western market.
