Research Intern
New Philanthropy Capital was set up by a group of leading London financiers who realized that there was nowhere to go for independent advice on charitable giving. NPC believes that by arming donors with information on the results achieved by charities - and helping charities themselves to get better at focusing on how they change lives - they could help to create change. NPC’s research creates an understanding of where need is greatest and identifies “high return” charities for donors. Their advice helps donors and their trusted advisors to see giving as an investment that is both effective and rewarding, while their tools enable charities to measure and communicate their results effectively.
Ideal interns embody the characteristics of NPC itself, meaning that they will have a sense of social mission and a desire to create positive change combined with rigorous analytical skills and the ability to deliver their findings in a compelling way. Thus, NPC seeks interns with good quantitative skills and excellent written communication skills. They must also be sociable and excited to be an active part of the NPC team.
NPC interns will perform research into various social issues, the strategies that can be employed to mitigate them, and the UK charities that address them. They may also have the opportunity to participate in some of NPC’s consulting work aimed at providing charities with the tools to work more effectively.
This is an ideal opportunity for anyone interested in applying the rigorous research and analytical skills of the for-profit business word to improve the effectiveness of the non-for-profit sector.
NPC will gain the energy and enthusiasm a bright and motivated US university student keen to learn and contribute to affecting positive social change
