Internship Description:
Founded in 1991, The Santiago Times is a pioneering, Internet- based newspaper serving English speakers and international visitors from around the world. From the 2010 earthquake to the state of the glaciers and the latest mining deal, The Santiago Times is most often the international paper of record on all matters related to Chile.
Skill & Experience Required:
- Native English speaker
- Experience with news or culture writing in a journalism environment
- Interest in Latin America, specifically in the areas of business, tourism, education, environment and politics
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills
- Independence, ambition, and curiosity
- Commitment to working a minimum of 35 hours a week
Sample Projects:
Typical projects may include:
- Pitch and develop story ideas for daily news coverage and features
- Interview key players for comments on news coverage
- Write news articles daily for online publication
