Internship Description:
Thames Reach is a charity helping London’s most vulnerable people. Our frontline services, such as outreach, hostels and drop-in advice services find and help people to move and remain off the street. We offer a range of services, including tenancy support, and specialist accommodation for those with substance misuse or mental health problems. We offer learning and employment support and training. We have an active fundraising and campaigning department. We help the most vulnerable and entrenched to find decent homes, build supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives. We are passionate in our belief that people can make lasting changes with the right support. We are committed to never giving up on people, no matter how complex. Last year we helped over 7000 people.
Skill & Experience Required:
An interest in homelessness and desire to participate in both the field and office work of a highly respected organization working to prevent homelessness. IT skills would be useful. The ideal intern will be highly motivated and able to work independently. The ability to be organized, flexible and show attention to detail are key, as is a good sense of humor and the ability to work well with team members and engage with service users where necessary.
Sample Projects:
The intern will have the opportunity to experience different aspects of our work. In addition to learning about and visiting our frontline services (training activities, street work, hostels), the interns will experience our vital functions such as fundraising, finance and human resources.
